Yes, congratulations! The ex-HK Governor Mr. Patton made a comment on the recent president election. He commented that Mr. George Bush is the worst US president ever in US history. So a new hope is now on the rise.

Cheers!

Bush definitely win the WORST and MOST CORRUPTED title in the US presidency history, but, who voted for him twice?

Didn't we always say to our friend 'you deserved that' if he got cheated? So every time when we cast our vote, do look closely!

In America it is not just an 8 years of regret, but few more years of real recession (Obama is not superman even if his policy works), and the whole world suffers too just because of that greedy and stupid Bush administration.

Hell has 18 levels, can anyone tell Bush the 19th level has just built for him!

One more comment to make. I admire the way that McCain made his speech to congratulate the President-Elect Obama. Although the presidential competition was fierce in the beginning, McCain ended up showing his sportsmanship by making a nice speech to compliment Obama. This is something Taiwan shall learn.

Anonymous said...

I agreed with all of you about Bush and Obama and the spirit of sportsmanship.
Also impressed people from HK and Thailand are very updated about US Presidential election news too.

Seems like Taiwan and US have the same revival from 2008 onwards. However, to make good of this pond of dead water is not easy. You guys please be patient with Mr. Obama for US and Mr. Ma for Taiwan.

mmh.. just the news told that Obama's younger brother is in ShenZhen (a border city to HK). He spoke very good Mandarin. After he was made known as related to Obama, he is now hiding away from media in ShenZhen.

Stella u r so wrong, bush has very good reason to invaid iraq, look at the oil price during the last 8 years, he made a good profit before leaving the office; so now u know how regret people voted for him in return to witness only his selfish, greedy and ego, sorry he is no no low iq, he has been fooling people for 8 years! don't think other people is stupid, otherwise we r not clever either, c how obama wins told u he estimates every steps carefully, and never think mccain and palin r with lower iq even in reality maybe! if u follow well with his campaign, u found out obama response quick and never estimated, he deserved to be the first african-american president now

yes his brother owns a BBQ restaurant and also teaches english, wanna try his BBQ?

btw, anonymous 11:58, the man on the right is not a waiter, he is the co-owner of the restaurant :)

fyi, bkk follow very closely to the election, we celebrated (organized by the embassy) the obama victory last night (nov/04) at the grand hyatt erawan hotel ballroom, of course the US embassador to thailand and the prime minister of thailand present themselves in the party, so u know how much the embassy staff support obama!

Yes, I agreed with Thailand Club. Bush is not low IQ. He made a lot of money from the invasion of Irqi. Catching Ladon is a good excuse for him. Now he is leaving the office, the oil price is going down. I think the Bush family got a lot of money and for many generations they will never be poor.

Man

Stella said...

Thank you TC and Man for your detailed analysis of Bush. Yes you are right, Bush has very high IQ, otherwise he cannot fool us for 8 years. He used some excuse to create a war, which eventually can benefit to his own pocket at the expense of all US people, and to some extent, the whole world.
Sea, you are right, both US and Taiwan are screwed by by some greedy and selfish big liars for 8 years. So we have to be patient with Obama and Ma. It takes time to come out from this "pond of dead water".

Stella said...

Is that a typo in the title? Do you mean "cherry pick" instead?

thank you Stella

Congratulations to the re-opening of the airport.
I just saw from Jade Channel 5 minutes ago. The tourists are excited and the airport is packed.
Thaiand has all the good potential being another HK if its political situation can improve.

Yes.
We are excited that BKK airport is back to normal.
In fact, BKK has been normal even during the protest. All shops, streets, shopping malls, restaurants, toursits spots are as usual. If you did not go to the airport or Gov't related buildings, you may not even know there was a protest. I think the media has exagerrated this event a little bit.

Hi Local Thai,
You are very right. In fact if you did not go to the airport, you see nothing different during the past 10 days. In fact, the Thai people in the airport and hotels are very helpful to help all of us going back to HK. They are very accomodating. We live in Peninsula Hotel and the hotel staffs are very helpful in many ways to arrange us to fly to the speical airport in Pattaya. We thank all the Thai people who helped us to "escape". However, we are very disappointed with our own HK side as they don't really care about us. Even Macau and Mainland China are more responsive and helpful than HK Gov't.

My American customers told me the Thai Gov't, Thai people in the airport and the hotels are all very friendly and helpful.
And they said even the protest itself is very peaceful. The protestors are only against the Thai corrupted Government but they are nice to ordinary people.

Mi

So local Thai, local HK and Mi are the spokesmen for BKK protest this time.
Thailand Club, next time you can also mention and update us about the current events of BKK in this blog too since you have all the first hand info.

Mmh.. missed this forum. If I were in BKK during the closure of the Airport, I would just take it as a long vacation, as I can work remotely on internet for a short period of time. :)

About TC's top ten for 2008, Benjarong, Thon Krueng, Lord Jim's, Le Normandie are really nice!

Thailand Club said...

We found that this blog is not only a bible to gourmet in Bangkok, but also the all-in-one Thailand Guide Book. There are links to the local weather, to the exchange rate, to Thai newspaper, to the T.A.T. ... all we need to know before heading to Thailand are there!

Great job Mr. Blogger!

There are times some restaurants which may be a bit unstable due to certain reasons. Running a restaurant is not easy. Just like me, I mixed up the salt and sugar last night when I made the dinner for my sisters' families. So if there are 1 or 2 dishes out of 5 not ok, then I think it's fine. If there are 4 out of 5 not ok, then it needs to be re-considered.

Yes, this is a very nice blog. Thanks for the hard work. Helpful link-ups!
