Serina
Teppanyaki

This luxury Hokkaido style tappanyaki joint is little-known outside of the Japanese community. The cuisine, of course authentic, is strictly followed on traditional recipes with modern preparation and stylist presentation.

Serina has divided into three sections, main dining room does teppanyaki, upstairs for a-la-carte menu, while another dining room in the annex building does shabu-shabu at Baht 650 per person.

My recent visit with two friends dug us around Baht 7,000 ($205) for an a-la-carte teppanyaki dining with basic seafood and steak (no lobster and wagyu steak) order, and my stomach was not even fed to half-full. Alternatively the chef can prepare a tasting-set for you based on your budget (minimum Baht 1,500++), and teppanyaki lunch set from Baht 350++ is relatively a bargain.

The pros - smokeless teppanyaki table left no uninvited smell on shirt and chef has decent culinary skill the Japanese kind

The cons - uneasy for my wallet (well I did mentioned it is a luxury eatery didn't I) and our chef was lack of smile

The bottom line - lots of true Japanese and seasonal ingredients that other teppanyaki joints don't offer, chef with good skill in mastering the cooking and teppanyaki show in balance without acting like a monkey, and all dishes came out simply taste good

The ad in your blog has been charity related such as "to help people in Congo" or "give the gift of hope in X'Mas" for the past month.

"to help people in Congo" or " give the gift of hope in X'mas" is very meaningful pre-X'mas activities for those living with hope, already has hope ... support charity pls :)

Actually I am not a festival type or birthday type of person. I think whenever we can we should help the others regardless of any specific dates.

Adsense Ad is still "Congo appeal" and "Int'l Aid Day" for more than a consecutive 2 weeks.
If possible, I do like to observe all festivals/holidays to add some spice into our boring and dry life here. However, cannot do much this year due to work load and limited after work time. We are busier than before can you imagine that?

Wow, this was really an impreesive dinner show. $37 US for this meal is very worth it:
you have oysters, king crabs, turkey meat, beef/steak, and dessert. And the presentation was so nice; or you have made it look so nice.

I really like this slide dinner show. Just by looking at this is so delicious already. Thank you Thailand Club.

good quality and turkey was juicy and tender, king crab imported to Thailand is ultra expensive, so overall ISO buffet at Baht 1,100++ is at very good value

Stella said...

You are right. Even if the king crab is cheap in LA, this price of $37US is still cheap, and let alone this price is at BKK where the king crab is expensive.
You really "earn" profit by eating here.

I like those flying things on your slide show.

right, we EARN a good profit eating there

Thanksgiving dinner usually has some extra mark-up, other 5-star hotels asking more than $60 while ISO at Nai Lert Park Hotel (a Raffles hotels) was quite reasonable, we enjoy the dinner so much with good food and good friends :)

BKK is really the heaven in Asia if there is no political issue.
Good food, good price, good people, good service, and good weather(BKK is not as humid as HK while not as dry as LA).

Yes. I agree with you Stella on your comment here.
In fact, Thai people are very nice and harmless even when they protest. My friend told me during the recent protest, the Thai people even passed out fried chicken to the protestors. They are friendly and they helped the tourists to "escape" the best they can.
They just wanted to make a scene and attract attention from the world.
