With stunning view overlooking the Rajprasong lifestyle hub, Su Tha Ros, is an elegant and classy Thai restaurant at the Muse Hotel Bangkok that serves time-honored Thai cuisine with a modern touch. For a few visits I did over the year, young chef culinary presentation did live up to expectations.

Nuer Koo

.

Double happiness

For high-so(ciety) figures who would like to sample a bowl of hearty beef noddles but couldn't stand for the heat by the sidewalk or worry about the hygiene for dining roadside, Nuer Koo at Siam Paragon Shopping Center is the answer for them! This new additive to the Siam Paragon's Food Passage on the 4th floor is a nice beef noodle joint in an unpretentious comfortable ambiance, and its premium beef noodle selections are the best way to help well-off shoppers to solve the problem of where to spend money wisely. As it labeled herself as using premium beef, therefore we can expect to contribute more cash to the owner's bank account.

On Narathiswas Road

Phaka-krong is not just another Thai restaurant near Bangkok's C.B.D. for the after-work white collars, but it is also one of the few Thai restaurants on Narathiwas Road where its food doesn't hurt our taste buds.

Khrua Mali

494
.

Fragrance of jasmine

Khrua Mali serves Thai food with a traditional twist; for non-Thai diners, this is the place for them to sample real (Thai) food, or to avoid if those are afraid that their tongue might get burnt.

For me, Khrua Mali is no doubt a paradise for my taste buds and a pleasure in the west side of the inner Bangkok.

Raan Kuaytiew Khun Thai

489
.

Noodle of grandpa

In between Wang Lang Pier and Patravadi Threatre, inside maze-like Trok Wang Lang, I found a (very very very) old fashioned local noodle joint - Raan Kuaytiew Khun Thai, that serves traditional Sukhothai spicy noodles (dry or in broth) in an ambiance of countryside dining. Their hygiene should be scarified for a bowl of yummy, yet hot, speedy and cheap noodles. Though the shop closes at 5 pm, noodles are sold out around 3 pm.

A day in New England

I really love this place - the Chocolate Ville, especially the scenic setting, so I would just show the ambiance of this restaurant instead of their food, as, to keep only the good memory be recorded.

Krua Or

482
.

The Prawn kingdom

Krua Or Pochana served tomyum goong (spicy and sour soup with prawn) noodle and tomyum Sukhothai noodle in decent portions and at a very affordable price.  Normally I don't review a restaurant that allows a cockroach to spy on my eating, but for Krua Or, I can make an exception, for once.

A sibling of See Fah Restaurant, im Thai Ramen is a Thai-Chinese style noodle bar at Life Center, serving street-stall noodles at a restaurant price, and in the comfort of air-conditioning. It is good for a fix of a quick meal or light meal before going to the gym upstairs.

Ko Dang Talay

478
.

Eating by the river

Eating at a night bazaar is (usually) the last place that I would like to dine at, such as the recently opened Asiatique the Riverfront. By chance, a few days ago I ate at Ko Dang Talay, and I found out that the food is good and the price is decent. Ko Dang Talay is not the place that sucks the tourist spending budget, but an honest seafood restaurant that really aims on cooking people a meal. Finally there is a place for me to eat, after a round of exhausted night bazaar shopping with heat and sweat.

Salad of Issan

Somtum Der is a clean and modern somtum (spicy shredded raw papaya salad of Issan style) joint with her debut in Silom area few months ago; the air-conditioning and comfortable ambiance do not wash down the authentication and genuine flavor of this Issan street food - somtum.

Pier 21

474
.

Cheap eat, good eat!
Recently, my local friends complained that Bangkok's food court meal is not wallet-friendly anymore since a small portion of any single menu dish (such as khao mun gai, or Hainanese chicken rice) cost at least THB 50 as norm at the food courts of all Central Plazas, the Emporium, the Siam Paragon and the MBK Mall. Nowadays, the lunch cost is a burden to all local salarymen.

I don't blame the vendors as I realized that they only earn a minimum profit to make their ends meet at the end of a day, while the high food price was reflex action by the bullying rental charge (or profit share) in shopping centers, but not the cost of ingredients and raw materials.

Not all property vampires are bloodsuckers. At Pier 21 Food Terminal, a standard size of order costs from THB 30 - 40, that is 20 - 35% cheaper than those served in other major shopping mall's food courts with the same serving size, and even with better quality and taste, as the operator only enrolls a shortlist of the city's most renowned street-food vendors to serve. There, it is not just cheap eat but also good eat!

Bussaracum

473
.

The charm of an ancient topaz!

This long time royal cuisine pioneer restaurant - the Bussaracum, has been (finally) moved back to Sathorn/Silom district, after a short operation period at Thonglo under the shelter of its group property; it was her forth relocation since the restaurant debut at Dusit Thani Hotel around thirty years ago.

Recently I revisited Bussaracum at her latest location, Si Wang Road, with some foodie friends.

While many established restaurants will lose their edge on food standards after they earned some 'history', and the kitchen teams started to show that they are exhausted, at Bussaracum, this scenario is a non-existent. In general, the food at Bussaracum is not only kept to their good standards; but in my opinion, it is better!

The only dissatisfaction is their service. The junior waitpersons are nice and attentive, but the manager-look-alike is nothing more than a dumb vase that had been just treated with Botox.
