Sa Nguan Sri

BANGKOK AMAZING GOURMET
.

Sa Nguan Sri

First time to visit Sa-Nguan-Sri, I walked back and forth (three times) between Ploenchit intersection and the All Seasons Place on Witthayu Road (Wireless Road), cried in the sun for (almost) missing the canteen until I checked on a bunker alike facility.

Everything in Sa-Nguan-Sri is old-fashioned including the interior, the menu, the recipes, the taste and even the price. Most of the dishes cost Baht 50-90. Food in Sa-Nguan-Sri is not good, but superb. Adding we can play music-chair during the busy lunch hours in order to secure a table, this canteen is fun too!

Sa-Nguan-Sri Restaurant ****
59/1 Wireless Road
Ploenchit, Pratumwan
Bangkok 10330
Tel.: 02.252.7637

Open daily (except Sunday) for Lunch only 10:00am - 3:00pm
Pay (food only for two): around THB 200

* don't let me fool you with this empty seats picture, as it was taken at 3pm; during the lunch hours, you need to play music-chair in order to secure a table

From the photo, the decor is quite modern, so I guess it is either Italian or French cuisine. Therefore I would say it is Western food.

I am the fish specialist. The fish in your photo is quite small, in western cuisine one whole bite size fish is not popular in a restaurant. I guess it is either Japanese or Thai food.

Let me guess, it is Japanese cuisine right?

My rabbit said it is none of the above.

hahaha thanks for the brave guess

if Dick really think it is French, can Dick tell me why do u think so? is it a CSI way or just a blind guess?

tomorrow i will post the restaurant picture as the second hints

8:11 AM

Blogger in the sea said...

Yes, TC if my guess is correct, then I need to thank CSI for inspiring me on guessing. If not so, then I still need to thank CSI. Sometimes we need to view the whole posting, not just on one object. That's the key of CSI. Actually there are quite a no. of cuisine for eating raw fish. So it can still be any of the listed choices. :)

Hi TC,
Dick guessed French because we picked the others already.
Also he thinks it is safe to follow SEA's guess as SEA is more logical and he knows food more than we do.
In fact I guessed French too in my heart but I want to let Dick pick the answer he thinks right.

OK, let me follow SS's way. My golden fish ticks Chinese. Jimmy (my furry travelling mate) ticks Thai. Jimmy's mate Donald ticks Italian. My turtle ticks Indian. My ant, died already from my apt. electro wave-insect killing machine but expressed thru' spirit medium to tick Japanese. :)

10:34 PM

Blogger in the sea said...

Mmmmh.. just found out a 2nd photo. SS, do you mean the "light" duck?

Actually the deco. is very nostalgic and like those in the 60's Cantonese classic movies, with a singer stand.

SS, it can be Italian bor.... as the classic Italian deco. can be like that. Even Chinese (but those HK old time Chinese). Even American too if you would notice it in those thrifty shops in LA.

SS, it can still be Thai. Madam Fa told me his mother used to sing in some elegant classy restaurant with lounge in BKK many many years ago and she used to live in Southern Satorn. I did meet Madam Fa's mother several times and she is such a charming elegant lady like Pai Shui Seen (白雪仙). In seeing the 3rd photo, I started to waiver for my guess as French, but my guess is still French. :) Put it in an exam. way - time's up, pen's down... :) From the cutting and placing of the beef, it's another answer in my mind. I would however let you determine your final answer as that's the cool side of you. You can still have your spare pets to place the guess.

11:08 AM

From the cut of the beef, it can be Thai and Japanese. But still it can be Western cuisine incl. South American food. The point shall be, who did the cut, the kitchen or the patron?

Oh my Goodness.
I am totally confused now by this "Char Siu" looking beef.
OK SEA, no more French. Our family meeting among the turtles, rabbits, cat, ants and myself concluded a wild guess of Brazilian Food. And don't ask me why I have this wild idea. I just do this by elimination as for sure this is not French, not Italian, not J, not Korean, not Chinese, not Thai(the decor of the lobby is not Thai at all)so that leaves South America.

9:30 PM

Blogger Thailand Club said...

yes Sea, in the 60's and 70's modern decor Thai cum Western restaurants with singer on duty were popular among high-so Bangkokians, but that scene fade out in the 90's; remember that Carlton, one good example, at last it closed too; now the high-so Thai people would prefer real Western restaurant with foreign chefs and Thai has to be pure Thai, they lack interest of the cross over

good try Stella, now the CSI logic flow in ur blood stem

10:00 PM

Blogger in the sea said...

Wow... DV8 - do they still exist? The deco was very hip at that time but now too many restaurants are like that. SS, your family summit on this guess should be a good reference for the 20 nation summit lately held. At least no more just 8 nations and more comprehensively to invite more nations to join.

SS, though TC may have said the fading glory of those once-high-so restaurants in the 60's, it may be a smoke bor... haha... So it can still be a Thai restaurant though my guess is still French. OK, from the look of the beef slices, it should be cut in the Kitchen. SS, do you know why I made such a guess? BTW, I saw something in the photo which gave some hint to the cuisine.... :) So do you want another family summit tonight?

Help help help. The more I read from here the more I am confused.
Hi Brio, you made a wise choice since your guess sounded like my pets'.
Hi Sea, my turtles said it seems that you wanted me to guess "Thai" food.
How did you tell the beef was cut in the kitchen? I cannot tell at all. You are observant. This was getting more fun. My turtles said you may lead us into guessing "Korean" food or Chinese "Wong Fu" "Char Siu" tomorrow.
My cats said it seems that "French" food is not the answer and they asked you to change your guess to "Thai".
My new member Mr. Squirrel and Scholar Owl at my window told me this food shall be South American or Middle Eastern or Persian.
As to our final conclusion, we need another summit meeting to vote vote and re-vote. Stay tuned.

Hi Brio, your guess sound like my pet's summit conclusion.

By the way, my roommates Micky, Hello Kitty, Garfield and Snoopy all said this is not "French" for sure. They said French Restaurants usually don't have a car garage next to it.

10:24 PM

Blogger in the sea said...

SS, actually it's not TC making the smoke. Apparently it's me but this is the fun of guessing game. We are not targeting on the prize but the course of guessing and chatting.

Remember I once quoted it's quite South American in a very early posting. So the answer as "Brazilian" is also quite relevant though I don't think so... haha.

Why I guessed it's cut in the kitchen - see the juice left on the plate and the meat sliced cut surface is a bit dry. If it's cut at the table side, the meat surface should have been a bit juicy. Unless the photo was taken more than 10-15 minutes after it was served, it looked it should be cut in the kitchen.

Check more on the photo. Slow down, slow down.... You are squeezing all of your family members. The 20 nation summit takes at least 3-4 days; so on pro-rata basis, your family should at least takes 1-2 days and had better go to some resort for your family summit.

12:25 AM

Blogger in the sea said...

BTW, I may not have a board experience about Brazilian BBQ, but at least most of the Brazilian BBQ doesn't serve grilled beef steak like this... hehe... SS, please continue to get confused. My sincere apology to all the pets and insects in SS's house - you may be bothered with "this or that" mandatory answers. Sorry if all of you can't have a good sleep...

12:33 AM

Blogger Thailand Club said...

Stella, the car didn't park in a garage, it parked on the street

and, all pets in ur house join the game? but where is the fortune-cat Garfield at the kitchen window la, she didn't join yet right :)

Sea, it did take more than 10 minutes to take those pics, my friends ate some complimentary finger biscuits while i did the photo taking and they complain hahaha

fyi, it is common that churrasco serve in pieces

1:25 AM

Blogger in the sea said...

I see. I can comprehend your friends' complaint as so do my friends. Now I take photos in less than 2-3 seconds. I thought it's cut in the kitchen but as now you have rectified my another assumption. So it can be a Brazilian BBQ. Mmh.. it looks like it's a skirt steak (腰腩排 - the steak part of the side belly area) served in a style of Brazilian BBQ as I can tell from the photo that the meat was marinated. Skirt steak needs to be marinated a bit and massaged well; otherwise it's a bit too chewy. OK, let's head for the cuisine with BBQ sliced beef and a cute fish which can be raw or cooked, while TC's friends were eating FINGER BISCUITS for TC's photo taking. Remember it's with its head on. BTW, Amazon river is famous for tiny piranha and the fish might be a grilled baby piranha (with small head?). Crispy to bite its tiny jaw if grilled. :) but it also looks like a 泥鯭 (sorry I don't know the English term).

At last, not only Brazilian BBQ has skirt steak (though I'm not sure if it's a skirt steak), but also some other cuisines like Spanish, Portuguese, and some more South American (e.g. Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile....) and even some North African have this kind of BBQ skirt steak (if so). Some served with stone baked nan - very nice.

Having said that, I still haven't changed my previous guess. :)

SS and all other friends, are the above confusing enough for your final guess?

8:29 AM

9:28 PM

Blogger Thailand Club said...

good job Stella now u r on the track

the fourth hint is about to tell you the similar of what yourself just figured out

i think Sea mentioned 'mud' fish is not cat fish; cat fish is available in 5 continents in various size (from small to giant), while 'mud' fish is quite HK native and they r small fish (like the size of fish Mike showing above his mouth) * this is not a hint, just answer to ur 'mud' fish vs cat fish question

10:24 PM

Blogger in the sea said...

SS, I can find the answer for you now. I almost reached that place tonight... hehe... but of course, as a sport spirit, I forwent going there. However, I may still go there in 20 minutes but better let you and all other friends get to try the guess.

About 泥鯭, I guess you might not have tried it before you left HK. This fish is very sweet (wild catch) with hundred year tangerine peel for congee. My aunt in Lamma Island once made that congee and as I am not a congee lover, I could take 4 big bowls of congee.

However, one thing I can tell you if TC ate that fish with the tummy, he should have been sick because that fish's tummy is all dirty mud. Cantonese fishermen would cut off the whole tummy part or at least cut it split and rub it inside out with cornstarch and sea salt. For me, I even used a tough cloth to rub the tummy to almost half thin. Normally cutting the whole tummy out is the safest way, unless it's a big "deep water" 泥鯭 (about 1 lb weight), then you can eat the tummy part but nowadays those deep water wild catch is like a diamond in the sea. Do you know what we put for fishing that fish? It's Chinese deep fried doughnut (oil fried ghost) with a 6 hooks like lantern to fish that kind of fish. So you can fish more than 1 or bingo to get 6 fishes at one time. So much of fun! My grand mom and father taught me a lot of fishing but as my wind-ear was on, I forgot most of them. :)

I only tried once with my customer but I don't like it(too much meat). I feel bad not to eat a lot due to the price. But I feel bad too after I eat a lot(as it is bad for my stomach). This is popular for American but not for Chinese as we cannot eat too much meat.

Though it's sad to lose something, good that you can have at least most of them recovered.

Most of my business friends asked me many many times why I wrote down some appointments on papers and not on iPhone or handheld devices. I simply told them I'm not an "electronic" person. So the truth is when the first casio data bank got born, I bought it but then lost all the contacts I keyed-in. Then I bought another one and lost it in a NW flight from NYC to Narita Tokyo when that plane got pulled back and forth between runway and gate several times for 8 hours before flying off.

Then when there is a Window CE first on a hand held device, that thing got broken down and I lost all the contacts again! Though I have some synch. data on my PC but the PC was in my home in HK and I was away on trip... It's much too late.

Right now my Ipod had its screen burnt and my cell. phone also the same but I just let them be.

My friend had his iPhone replaced for a new one for 4 times in a year and re-synch. his data with this or that. Much of a hassle.

Having said that, I don't mean we don't need those technological things, but just we shouldn't rely too much on it.

For those who may once remember we had this kind of fish finger biscuit a long time ago but it's for "home use". So it may be a "private home dining", and you may be served "today's menu"; so it can be so international, not just for one specific cuisine. Maybe the next day you will be served with Peking Duck with balsamic sauce, Foie Gras in wasabi fig dressing...etc.

However, my guess hasn't changed. The above is apparently another confusion. :) Seeing is not believing, as quoted by TC.

It is better if you just tell the answer here instead of only to those email accounts.

even those without a gamil account will also receive the answer by email, if they attached their name in the comment (of couse i don't know where the email shall send to if i don't hv their names)

Stella, that's mean only those who placed a guess (either with their gmail account or by anonymous tick with a name) will receive the answer, sorry not for those passing by

in the sea said...

SS, that means you need to at least set up an individual email account for your turtle, gold fish, any other pets/insects in your house. :) What a job...

MMh.. this is not a bias to TC. This is very fair as it should be counted on an email with ID.

SS, Brazil is in Southern America, not Central America whereas Panama, Honduras, El Salvador...etc. Remember those beautiful Miss World - they are from these places.

Anonymous said...

If SS is the banker/lender that I know of, for sure she is not good at geography. She also not good at direction. When she tells me to turn right then it shall be a left. You need to reverse her direction to get to the right place.

Stella said...

Thank you TC for the clarification. That sounds better as my turtles, rabbits, cats still have a position.

Thank you SEA for the geography class. I just checked the world map and you really got all the countries right huh. Next time I'd better just said South of America to cover all. :)

Anonymous, my sense of direction is ok since the world is round.

in the sea said...

Yes, if you face Stella on the opposite side when she says the direction. So her right would mean your right then. Got it?

SS, alternately you can call South America as Latin America (a classic term).

Anonymous said...

Maybe just South (East, West, and North) of Pasadena!

Anonymous said...

Sorry guys. Stella even gets lost in Pasadena.
Mi

Stella said...

Oh, that is because there is one-way street and I got mixed up. Not because of my sense of direction.
I am good at direction 50% of the time.

in the sea said...

SS, they are actually stimulate to improve your senses of direction. I notice you have a very good sense in checking the details, especially that time you immediately got aware from the Thai sales of a hotel we had a sighting on their room. He first told the answer by losing his chance of making the room rate more flexible.

By the way, it's not a discrimination but some scientific study told in most cases the brain of women is somehow in lack of the direction. However, due to this part, men's brain can't work in versatile functioning. A woman can cook while listening to the radio. A man can't diverse his brain function to other things when they work on something. So when you call a man while he is working, he would be quite annoyed.

Anonymous said...

u r right, i cannot cook while listening to radio, i hv also to watch tv, chat on MSN, and on the phone

hahaha :)

Yai said...

Thank for the sixth hint p'TC! You are very kind to make us so confused.

No matter what you say and what the next hint will be, my guess is pub food, exactly Thai pub food.

Stella said...

Hi Sea, thanks for the comforting pep talk. I am only alert when it comes to discounts, promotion sales, bargain prices, free stuffs, etc.
I may be observant and insightful on certain things but I am really not good at direction. I have to admit this. I am the majority of women.

Hi Yai, you have a good spirit by sticking to your original guess. Just like I will stick to my original guess: the restaurant serves south of America BBQ food.

I think TC just tried to confuse us and test our brain by disguising from the correct answer, with some help from Mr. Sea.

in the sea said...

SS when one thing is deemed to be good, on the other way, it has other side effect. One of my friends - she often treat big sale is a big gain for her and I can see her bright smile when she gets some bargaining. She even beated the locals in Beijing. She grabbed the things she wanted and dropped the money she thought it's much enough (e.g. RMB100 for an originally priced RMB500). So that's her mini-world of stock market.

Re the guess, once again check on the photos and all the words linked together, you would get an idea.

Is this really the last hint? I am expecting the answer on next Saturday la.

in the sea said...

TC, I wanna clarify on PDT as Pacific Date Time, right?, i.e. the timeline in between Fiji time zone and Samoa zone in the Pacific (or easily known for Honolulu time zone for 1 hour ahead of Samoa if those who don't know where Samoa is - recently there is a 8.1 degree earthquake triggering a big tsunami devastating the island in South Pacific). It thus means BKK time as 7pm of 31st Oct., HK time 8pm of 31st Oct. and CA time 4am of 31st Oct (if it's changed back to the winter time zone). Just hint to someone if their house pets/insects are forced to fly, swim or walk to different time zones to place the bet.

Good to know that the deadline is another week away so that I can have more time to change my final guess. :) Mmh.. LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT - it's sometimes not about the food. It can be anything, not limited to the food.

Anonymous said...

The two of you are very knowledgable on the time zone and good matters.
My guess is Hawaiian Food.

May

Stella said...

OK, that means deadline is next Saturday based on LA time. Still one week to go.
I will not guess something else.

in the sea said...

Mmh... interesting and I guess you do that for the easy reference of our friends in the west coast of the N. America continent. My first instinct in reading PDT as it should be in the middle part of Pacific Ocean (i.e. Fiji/Samoa). So this PDT is kind of a US term for Pacific.

May, I really like your guess for Hawaiian food. We need to be more creative and open our mind up. :)

Anonymous said...

yes, May guess has a point no matter it is correct or not at least she joins the fun

TC

Stella said...

OK, I will guess this is America related BBQ food, including but not limited to Hawaii or south of America BBQ.

in the sea said...

Stella, you are really using a US business term as "including but not limited to". This term is also widely used in my industry.

I don't think your guess is accepted though. Otherwise, I would guess "world-related" cuisine. :) Please be more specific like what May guessed - Hawaiian, or Bostonian....etc. if American food is referred to.

Thailand Club said...

dear APASP pets and animals posted here earlier (although comment deleted), we already handed the issue to the related authority in Orange County and Greater Los Angeles and they will locate ur ip address for proper 'help', be patient

Stella said...

OK Mr. SEA, my guess is still south of America good(South or Central America).
Please don't hold me hostage on this area since my geography is not that good. Also, their food is more or less the same. What I know from them is BBQ.
Mr. TC, I don't get to understand your APASP and the IP address thing.

in the sea said...

Yes, when I know some pets stole my ID to post their request, I immediately deleted it. They might even stole my IP address. I think they can't really let their original IP location be exposed. They are acting as if they are in the movie "Matrix".

in the sea said...

Wow, TC, I just found out you gave a big hint on the answer and in fact I did once tell about it. This is fun and indeed you are very educational to tell the others to watch the things from every angle. When I noticed you posted "LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT", I already have the answer. It's not even about food. All about when you are in it. At least I also fall in love at my first sight.

Just like what I told on your photo posted on the sequence, you did purposely show something to tell what the cuisine is, especially I saw a very little detail of the photos. I am now so sure of my answer and even I told TC the other day of my guess. OK, it's not French definitely but I will tell my guess when it gets exactly at the time of 12 PDT of 31st Oct. So our friends, please be patient in checking all the details and how TC hinted the answer. When you find it out, you would feel like you are "free".

TC Khor Khun Ma Krup for leading the way. Mmmh... I need to tell someone who hasn't browsed this blog much, who must be very emotional and excited to see these photos. The song 不了情 is my personal BIG hint to the answer. TC, I guess you would know I mean...hehe.

Stella said...

Oh my goodness, the more I read this the more I am confused.
Do you mean this shall be a magic show instead of eating?
Like you swallow the fish and comes come the BBQ beef?
By the way, Pacific Daylight Time will end this Sunday morning at 2 am(LA time).
Thank you TC for telling the PDT and PST. I never really get this straight till reading from your blog last week.

Sea, of course with all those hints u sure hold on to them, but no need to take the guess on 1200 PDT 31 Oct 2009, as the answer is still part of the fun ... hehe; anyway u already told me the answer in person? if it wasn't the rain, we already went there to take some photos

without good observant ppl think i am giving out empty hints, but actually all of them r true and related, and the last hint is the key

well well guys u haven't placed a guess pls try, and those who did pls stay tuned, just 5 more days for some laugh from ur heart :)

in the sea said...

OK. I think it's a mis-writing. I shall make my guess before the deadline.

SS, it's not confusing actually. Slow down and watch everything. The answer is there already.

Thailand Club said...

of course the answer is there already after so many hints

"The song 不了情 is my personal BIG hint to the answer."? More confusing lead.

Anyway, I still say Spanish.

Nice is, only 3 more days for the answer.

in the sea said...

The song "不了情" was quoted on my aged comments on this posting as a fond memory for someone who often wanna go back to BKK but physically can't. Thanks so much TC for finding this place. When I saw the first photo with a singer stand, an elegant singer came up in my mind. Actually the song 不了情 is another echo to the hints "love at first sight" too.

OK, my final guess is "Thai cuisine". It may be wrong because I noticed this cuisine was quoted in one more term.

I cannot wait to see the answer.

Actually I wanna know the exact answer if it's Thai pub food since it's mentioned and labelled on the overall postings here. You will find more than those shown here, right TC? I really find it very entertaining esp. when I noticed something changed on the posting"s". This is much about enlightenment when we all paid attention to one thing but neglect the "whole" picture. At last, I really wanna try the Chao kuay from this restaurant... :)

Thailand Club said...

i think so far there is only Sea notice that i hv shifted the guess game post one position up (when i threw out the sixth hint) and leave the REAL hint on the original post

actually i should leave the seventh hint as "Be Observant!" hehe :)

in the sea said...

haha.. you really made a smog for me once as you told Brazilian BBQ does serve skirt steak like that. I was a bit confused at that time but then already noticed the sauce on the corner. Actually the deco. is quite French and I did go to some pub places in Paris like this which I was once thinking it's French. However, eating a whole fish with head on is not the Paris way (to my knowledge). That would be in the Med. French style but the deco. is not that med. style.

This is really fun! Thanks for the hints one by one.

Stella said...

This was a fun guessing game. Also this is like a FBI detective training class too.
Thank you TC. You got all of us. I think it takes a full time detective and also a gourmet to guess this right.
The only one closer to the right answer is SEA then. Congratulations to SEA, you pass the FBI entrance exam.
:)

Stella said...

Now we can tell the way and the angles that photos are taken can be very deceptive.
Just like this one gave us a wrong impression that the background is Western or French or Brazilian. So it is really "seeing is not believing". What a world full of illusion man. This is the fun part of it I think.

Yai said...

Hahaha seems I am right! p'TC my prize please!

Stella said...

Hi Yai,
Congratulations to your right guess.
No wonder you can be the soldier as you have the detective and FBI sense.

Thailand Club said...

here comes the official winners

congratulations! Sea, Derek and Yai, u r right, it is Thai cuisine, although more specific shall be Thai cum western pub cuisine (but Thai cuisine will go, as the restaurant itself position itself as a restaurant instead of a pub)

Stella, u once think it is Thai, but later u bet it on South of America cuisine (that's mean Antarctica cuisine?)

thank you everyone for the participation, u guys having fun right!

stay tuned, next weekend another Guessing Game will be rolled out

okay okay this time a easier one :)

in the sea said...

Hehe.. that's why I asked TC if my guess may be half correct because it was labelled on the lower post as Thai pub cuisine. I haven't been to those pub places much; so I have no idea about it. Maybe only 2-3 times but not very impressive, as the people there enjoys entertainment other than on food.

in the sea said...

Mmmh... just noticed it's changed to Thai Western food on the lower posting; or I mixed it up when TC commented it as pub?

in the sea said...

BTW, the Chao Kuay seems to be a better gift for me. May I redeem that one instead of fish? :)

Thailand Club said...

well u shouldn't focus on chao-kuay, try lod-chong also, it is fantastic

okay u can hv all :)

u may as well forward Suea Non Kin to Sawat, he may likes the restaurant too!

Thailand Club said...

Sea, i didn't change the tag label bor! so u were confused when i mentioned it is a pub food place in the post :) hehe

Yes this is a fun game.
The funnest part is to confuse and deceive people.
If I did not go by the hints and the pictures and just guess blindly, I would have gotten this right.
Also, my pets, Dick and Chris mentioned about Thai food too but I just did not say it out. But that is ok, you don't need to give me the prize. I will donate to SEA, Yai and Derek. :)

Stella, I guess by now you know what this blog is for.. :) after all the games. Good and everyone should check on almost every corner of the blog for more finding. In fact, there was a time I passed by some small sois of of houses/buildings, there are some improvised canteen places offering some quick stir fries. So a canteen is quite possible, but I need to switch to Window for a better look. I still can't view the photo on mac.

Thailand Club said...

thanks Linda, u took the 1st guess, good try!

Finally Mr. Trainer is here to join the fun.

Actually my "invited gun" told me it's a restaurant and I told her to post but she is quite shy and just keeps watching this post. So I would leave her guess as hers. I would take on it as a canteen. Mmmh. Ploenchit area (the US Embassy is there) and some hotels, some Gov't offices and commercial buildings too... :)

Yes, I also noticed the yellow royal flag but it seems to me there are many places with the yellow flag. I also once thought it's a royal canteen for one of the princes who has been a movie maker.

Stella said...

Welcome on board Mr.Trainer.

Hi Soldier Yai,
So you do know the answer don't you?

Yes the more I see this post the more I think this is a Gov't related official building.

welcome Arthur!

yes from blog traffic control i monitor that many readers r just passing by kind, they r too shy to leave us comments

Sea, maybe we shall think of some incentives to motivate them to leave comments, e.g. 1 comment = 1 point, collect 2,000 points a free round-trip ticket to the moon, collect 10,000 points entitle to board the escape ship in 2012 :) hehe

thanks all sweeties for ur brave guessing :) this time the answer will pop out pretty soon

in the sea said...

Mmh.. before I left the office earlier, I seemed to post some word but not sure if I forgot pressing the "go" button. Anyway, Khun Swatt told me it's a restaurant or canteen and the name at the entrance should be a lady's name and it may not be a Government building.

BTW, Khun TC, I told Swatt to try the jok you mentioned here, esp. Green House at Landmark. Congee is his favourite.

Good idea for a point system or guessleage (mileage for guessing) with tier level. Escape ship in 2012 - that means another 2 years for points redemption. Har.. roundtrip to the moon? That means a return journey back to Earth? So we still need another 10000 points for an economy class at the escape ship in 2012. Better to get 15,000 for a premium economy or 20,000 for a business class. :)

Stella said...

That is good incentive. If counting points then I am sure SEA will get his round trip ticket soon.
Maybe not to the moon, but to the US instead la. Ha ha ha.

in the sea said...

Wow, SS, you make me bet US$135 har..?

Just watched 2012. I almost cried when I saw the LA downtown and the whole LA county got torn down... :), but no feeling for another place. Why don't they show other cities like Bangkok, Tokyo? Mmmh.. a tsunami over 20,000 feet high to hit Himalaya. That means a earth crust jumping up and down at least 10,000 feet to 15,000 feet..... The final scene shouldn't be that cleared up because only the Yellowstone super volcano's dust would cover the whole Earth for a year, let alone the Hawaii, Philippines and Indonesia volcanoes...

in the sea said...

Yes, TC, should be on a movie's mode. Just my habit to think of something geography. BTW, the movie's final also reflected another philosophy of 2 types of monkeys being spilt by the central mountain range on a drastic earth crust swift and jump up to over 10,000 feet. The mountain split the monkeys into 2 groups. One in the East and the other staying in the West. The Earth trade wind made the West still very rich in natural resources but the East was too dry. So the monkey in the East needed to survive and there they went on to grow and became human being..., learned from National Geographic.. :) So no risk, no growth. No empty bowl, no learning. Keep on guessing...

Stella said...

It seems this movie did give us lots of inspirations and thoughts.
Movie is a reflection of life and philosophy most of the time, although in a more dramatic way.
