This ex-FBI really knows how to cook authentic Vietnamese food. This is the best best Vietnamese food we ever had. Rating AAA. Thanks Mike.

Ok, Park Food Hall@Emporium - though the food price is a bit more expensive, it's still worth for a try. I did made a complaint about the staff there for they were gossiping behind customers. I would becoming a bit more demanding if the place charges a bit higher.

Xuan Mai - very home cooking style. In general, everything is nice though I don't like cat fish much. Just a little suggestion to the cook - should buy a more powerful stove. The stir fried dishes should be with a higher heat. Her cooking skill is good but really needs a better stove.

Crystal Jade - interesting, the quality of their herbal jelly is not steady. Sometimes they put it together with some other meaty stuff in fridge and so it absorbed the meaty smell - quite unpleasant. However, sometimes it's really good. But no complain as their famous food is noodle soup. They do keep a very good standard on noodle soup!

ok, i will tell Meyung to buy to new stove, a powerful stove

You tell Meyung to buy a new stove, you tell Meyung to cook no taste/no salt food; she might tell us not to come again man.

Oops... sorry I forgot we asked them for "no salt, no sugar, no oil...". I should have counted that in. Then considering that, Meyung had done a very good job! :)

haha, Meyung told my friends (also fans of her home cooking) she is so afriad of me (asking so much to alter her recipe), she just has no idea that i write food review for her, her good food and service worth my support

We tried Crystal Jade for both dim sum and dinner too. The food was good. The dessert(the black herb jelly and mango pudding) was also good. We went to the one inside a very nice shopping mall.

I guess you may refer that nice shopping mall as Siam Paragon... and in fact it seems like that one has dim sum and full menu dinner.

Yes Siam Paragon. The Crystal Jade there was good.
But next time I will try the others recommended by Thaisclub here. There are lots for me to explore.

Oops Xuan Mai, I have never seen such Vietnamese restaurant before, down-to-earth, no gimmick, I felt all bucks I paid were for the food (no sponsorship in decoration or owner's high profit), the owner cum chef cooked in passion, dishes were creative (to us) although they are house dishes for Khun Meyung. She is really an ex-FBI agent, so criminal be aware!

Sometimes besides good food, chatting with your customers for knowing their need and part of their stories would help you understand more and put it in your cooking mentality and attitude. She did it! So a restaurant is not just about food, so for the one who cooks at home. It's not just cooking simply.

this is the formular of Meyung's success, she has a pleasant personality, customers really feel like eating in a friend's home besides she already offered home-cooking

This Vietnamese Restaurant sounds like a must go place in Bangkok. We shall feel safe eating at ex-FBI place so no bad guys dare to go.

Right, safe to eat. Even Bin-Laden and Bush shared the food there, just like they share the world. They were talking so loud, Bush show off how he robbed the world's crude oil market, and Laden show off how his terrorism policy helping US to get rid of aging weapons and missiles. They further discussed how to ensure Obama getting the top job. Bush gave Laden a good bye kiss after lunch, at the ass.

Jello-O,
Wow, even Bush went. No wonder this place was highly recommended by Stella and Chris as they said lots of impotant people went there. I want to eat here next time. I did not have a chance to go last time.
From Ronald

Ronald,
Do you mean "important" or "impotent"? Or you meant to say Bush is both important and impotent?

Fillet-O Fish said...

Ok, I like fillet-o-fish and Ronald like jello!

Thailand Club said...

har, Bin-laden and Bush eat there too? lucky never meet them

oh, maybe the FBI send Meyung to spy on their conversations

Don't scare those readers here, who are innocent civilians. Oh, if Mr. Bush is reading this, you should go there and try your ex-colleague's food! Then you would treasure the Vietnamese people staying in your country. Some of my friends are Vietnamese fleeing out of the Country in the 70's because of the stupid Vietnamese war. I often avoided talking about that topic when we came to history. It does still hurt them a lot - leaving their lovely country. Vietnam is a place with lots of good natural resources and it's on a rich coastal line on the western part of China sea!
