Khao Chae and Sweet Sticky Rice with Ripe Mango

If Khao-chae (rice soaked in ice-cold jasmine-scented water, served with tidbits) is the angelini of the month, then Sweet sticky rice with ripe mango must be the angelina. Both are super stars of April and the summer seasons in Thailand.

This hotel is really big with 1,700sf for only $110 per night. We are lucky to get this new hotel so cheap. Thanls to Mike, our leader.

I don't remember we ate the chestnut cake at Angelina(inside Shangarila Hotel). It looks so good. I like chestnut a lot.

Stella. It is Angelina (French female angel in Central) not Angelini (the Italian male angel in Shangri-la Hotel).

OK. Angelini and Angelina. They shall not have similar names to confuse people. :)

Hey it is word between female and male. You don't call a female angel Angelini in France. It must be Angelina. No confusing!

You really shall try that hotal(Abloom) next time.

actually if you are really into gourmet research, 13 days are not enough. I would say half year...:) Hotel Abloom - is it Arasia on Pathonyothin? That soi Ari area is pretty nice. I tried there twice. Lots of nice restaurants inside the soi.

The pictures you took at Jasmine are better than the food. :)

Yes, the hotel Abloom Arasia is really great. It is new, it is roomy, it is cheap, and people are friendly there.

Actually when I tried to book hotel room for my next trip to BKK, it often came up with some new hotel or serviced apartments. One at soi Thonson (forgot the name) seems to be quite nice and also a good location. Then there a few more in Silom and Sukhumvit. Good that there will be more competitive hotels.

I wish you have comment section below each restaurant(instead of being grouped together) so we can comment more. This blog is fun.

Interesting. I don't browse blogs - just only this one. The good thing is that I can type fast and I can even comment more than it should be... Talking to nowhere... haha, I mean more than food. Hope you don't mind.

You must be 2 expatiate guys working(and now living) in Thailand Mr. Club and Mr.Sea because you sound "local"(in terms of eating) but you don't sound "Thai" other than eating.

hi anonymous 2, except few days i recorded my sister's visit in April and her gourmet sampling; all other restaurants are written in individual and can be comment individually, thanks for ur comment and support

If I checked on my passport, I think there have been more than 100 Thai immigration stamps. Actually I already used up my passport pages within 5 years (for the bigger one). Of course, there are places I visit. Some places like Vietnam, their visa already occupied one page! I really hope they can think about "saving space". So I think the European immigrations are more environmentally conscious. Sometimes they don't stamp, but sometimes they do. I asked my friend in Paris. She replied some of the officers may be just a bit not too caring. Interesting.
