Chef that is lacking of iron
Japan's most talked about cooking contest and television show, the Iron Chef has come to Thailand; last week (March 14) the contestant (or the challenger in Iron Chef's term), a Thai-northeastern native chef who works in a Bangna district Chinese Restaurant, that leans on group tours and event clientele, easily beat the program's permanent Iron Chef of Chinese cuisine - Khun Chaithe a.k.a. Mr. Lee (owner of Lee Kitchen and Lee Cafe) by a fairly big margin. I went to Mr. Lee's restaurants a few times, no matter if they are the Lee Kitchen or Lee Cafe, the food was far from cheerful.

Visited here a long time ago and that's it. :(
So you guys are saying this place is not that impressive and yet they can show people how to cook on TV?
TC, did you mention that it is a contest, not a teach cooking program?
SS, in general, this place is good when you are so desperate for something to eat when you can't find another place in a radius of 10 km on foot. :)
Oh I see. That kind of "good" huh.
Thank you Sea.
It is pork? on the baked rice? looks very dried and plain, yuck.
right Tommy, pale pork (and very dry) and plain rice in a pot, this is Lee's version of baked rice!! shame of it!
Sigh... baked rice in the eyes of this Lee means "put some food in a pot", just like cooking class in a kindergarten.
Visited lee cafe at central world, waiter or waitress there doesn't even know how to differentiate porridge or rice when we place order although we've clearly specify what we want. We order 3 dishes (1fish,2 fried vege), but in the end only 1fish,1vege being served. They cant even speak a single word of english and the meaning of rice. When we request to speak to the manager, the only answer from the waiter was huh! After spoken to three other waitresses, at the end we still got the porridge instead of rice. What a lousy service and food and the only word i can descript is yuck!!!

Khun Chaithe (Mr. Lee) of Lee Kitchen had just been kicked out from the position of the Iron Chef Thailand's permanent Iron Chef of Chinese division, and replaced by Mr. Peter Lai, a chef from Hong Kong who works in Bangkok for many years. This time we have a real Chinese chef to represent the Chinese cuisine challenge in the Iron Chef Thailand program.
right, justice served! that Mr. Lee was beaten by a young Issan native chef (by big margin) who mostly enjoys eating somtum, but can cook a table of Chinese meal, so Mr. Lee can 'collect''skin' la ..
if people want to eat rock-hard roasted pigeon, or want to pay a high price for below average food, then go to Chaithe's Lee Kitchen, and they would never wanna eat Chinese food again ..
