Thailand quietly became the center of gourmet and spas. In recent years Bangkok is rising as the capital of the World's kitchen. Wanna join me to explore the Kingdom? Splashing water with blessing
April 13 - 15 is Songkran (Thai New Year) or splashing water festival in Thailand. Splashing water is fun and eating khao-chae is cool. One of my favorite Thai restaurant in town also serves khao-chae during the summertime. Not the best but worth to try.

Yes the ice cream is good here too.
Yes Anonymous 18:32, my friend also said the ice cream here is good and they have some special flavor.
I have been to this restaurant but I did not try their ice cream yet.
Yes, from Vanilla, Choco, Taro, Custard Apple to Coconut, all are good. Very nostalgic ice cream actually. Khao chae is pretty good too.
yes its nostalgic flavor of vanilla ice cream is superb
Hope to try this next time.
I like the Vanilla ice cream from Haagen Dazs and Dairy Farm from HK.
SS, do you still remember the ice cream brand called 安樂園? It's like that flavour. Hagen Daz is somehow quite sweet for me. Those at Thon Krueng is just at a nice sweet level.
Yes I remember On Lok Yuen ice cream, at that time ice cream was a treat to me only once in a while due to my asthma. But we always went to On Lok Yuen to have the wafer and hot dog.
Yes Haagen Dazs is sweet, but unfortunately that is already the least sweet brand here. Oh, there is one local ice cream shop called "Fosselman's" on Main Street in Alhambra. There ice cream is not sweet and taste like Dairy Farm's. Business is good at the times. Night time is packed. This shop is owned and run by Chinese with Chinese recipe and that is why it is not too sweet. They have Lychee ice cream, sesame ice cream and other seasonal Chinese fruit ice cream(sometimes they have Durian ice cream). They always won the LA County Fair award for ice cream.
I recall I used to get the low sugar and low fat Dreyer's ice cream and they still tasted pretty good. Hagen Daz is very nice in terms of its texture and flavour but just a bit too sweet to me now. Har... On Lok Yuen is like a cafe? Actually it's not that much in the length of my memory. I think it faded away when I only knew them in a 2-3 year time. As a kid, such a nice ice cream is so memorable.
Sea, On Lok Yuen is a full service cafe. During lunchtime it is packed with central's OL, and students in the late afternoon. It is a 歲月神偷 cafe!
Yes TC and SEA, On Lok Yuen is a full service cafe good at hot dog, wafer, and ice cream. I am glad TC remembers. This was our frequently visited cafe in our childhood. The is really a "time thief" cafe.
Thanks TC and SS for the history note. At that time going to a cafe was a very high class activity. So all I know is the ice cream from that name.
At that time you were too little for cafe so more suitable to eat ice cream for a little kid. :)
Might only be 1-2 years younger. :)
I like your comment SEA.
Khao chae again, TC you really love them.
