DEAN & DELUCA

BANGKOK AMAZING GOURMET
.

A taste of SoHo in Bangkok

I have many dreams. I dream that two world finest grocery and gourmet markets, FAUCHON Paris and DEAN & DELUCA New York, may come to Bangkok. Now one of them just landed (to Bangkok).

It is DEAN & DELUCA.

A sample meal may start with minestrone (THB 150+), follow by mouthwatering roasted beef sandwich (THB 170+), concludes with a cup of coffee (THB 65+) and v
anifon's aristo (cup) cake (THB 90+). Before temporary farewell to DEAN & DELUCA, get some D&D kitchen herbs, bread and a bottle of truffle oil for yourself or loved half. That was what I did yesterday.

Seems like it's from the East Coast and especially it has just one store in CA.

Only one farang inter coffee shop newly open in Chongnonsi. Dean Deluca.

Wow, only one store in CA. Then I think it is in SF. So I must not know this brand at all.

I would guess the 2 words to go for the guess "SoHo" and it's from the States. Then this place is very likely to originate from NYC. It's a 4 star rating and food for 2 at THB400 (US$14).

Dean DeLuca's California shop is north of SF in St.Helena wine country of Napa Valley. The one in
BKK has a bagel with cream chese and smoked salmon.

In Asia, there is a few Dean & Deluca in Japan. And now Bangkok has one too? Is this only a cafe or a full service gourmet market like the one in SoHo?

Stella said...

I think I am lost here since I am not that "soho" and I seldom go to high-end grocery.

Chongnonsi BTS. Very good location. BTW, I need to say (mind me be a bit hard-selling here) TC is very progressive. 10 years ago, he already told me the area of Sathorn down to Rama 3 will be under big developments. Thanks for your insight indeed. That picture is now here alive. :)

I guess it is the D & D from New York.

Yes SEA you are right, TC have very good vision and he is insightful in things.

Dean & DeLuca is a very famous gourmet market in New York. I have heard that the one in Bangkok is located on the Ritz Carlton construction site??

Stella said...

It seems that most of you here know about this brand name gourmet market except me.

I noticed the address is under "Mahanakhon Project", and from the bridge of Chongnonsi BTS, it seems to the location for the forthcoming Ritz Carlton, or just next around it.

Stella, our world is getting more diverse. Just like me, I don't know much about many areas in HK, like Soho and Lan Kwai Fong in Central. Even Tsimshatsui is a whole lot different.

Stella said...

Yes SEA, our world is getting more and more diverse and closer now.
Maybe you are more updated about BKK than HK now.:)

Thailand Club said...

yes it is in Mahanakhon Project temp building consisting of a sale office and Ritz Carlton show flats, the construction site will be (if it really build) behind this

a Ritz Carlton flat staring price is THB 250,000 ($8,620) per sq.m

in the sea said...

So that's about HK$6,000 per sq. ft. This is the price for Tin Shui Wai and Sheung Shui in HK now.

Mickey Mouse said...

no, this is more expensive than the price of HK's Old Peak Road in 1982, while HK GDP at that time is sync with today's TH GDP

Stella said...

This tell us real estate is a good investment in BKK.
Today BKK is just HK 40 years ago.
And future BKK will be another little HK.
