Buffet from five Continents
My friends were upset by the (low quality) breakfast offer at Oasis, Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya, while they stayed there, in a result that the morning had been spoiled. Centara hotels have a hand in consistency of food and beverage (low) quality, the buffet dinner at the World, Bangkok's Centara Grand at Central World, does not rescue its poor reputation.
The variety of buffet line up is large, but all of them, mediocre. When I avoid its tired sashimi, stale oysters, and Wednesday's chewy wagyu roast (from where? probably China!), the meal concluded happier.

So Centara/Central World Group has a reputation for mediocre food.
$50 US each for this buffet is not worth it. In this case the Lord Jims is very worth it.

I visited The World 2 years ago but it wasn't that bad. However, in juding how they have their F&B supply for some basic food like bread and fruits, I would guess their other buffet quality is adjusted to CCC-. I think Oasis in Centara Grand Mirange is the only hotel I surrendered the breakfast at a compulsory cost of THB800. Or I should say I paid THB800 for an excuse from being tortured. How can just some simple bread and fruits be so awful. Now they took champion from Peninsula BKK. At least Peninsula BKK has some decent bread and fruits.
Seafood is not fresh, awful!
Almost $30 US for the junk food in Oasis is not worth it.
The room in Centara Grand Bangkok is quite modern and trendy, big toilet but small bedroom, strange design. The food outlet is so-so, maybe has a low budget. Food shown in slideshow, pale and stale, not interesting at all. Typical Centara cuisine.
Very cool quote - low budget on food but high charge to the customers.
And that means high profit to the company with low budget food and high charge.
