yumcha @ Summer Palace

444.

Dimsum for the Last Emperor

Summer Palace is a long standing Chinese restaurant serving a traditional Cantonese specialty menu in Bangkok. Just like any hotel's Chinese restaurant, Summer Palace also serves dimsum during lunch time (it is called yumcha in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, where Cantonese yumcha culture has its roots there).

Yumcha, or drinking tea eating dimsum (bite-sized food in small portions, usually served in a small bamboo streamer basket or on a small plate); at Summer Palace, of the Intercontinental Hotel Bangkok, it is set in an ambiance of opulence, with the choices of a la carte and all-you-can-eat. The dimsum dishes, enjoyable but not outstanding; and service is pleasant but not impeccable!

Good enough for me though.
In line with the quality in LA and also the price.
In fact, all the dim sum I ate in BKK are good.

The dim sum is quite nice though not the best. Most of all, the meal was very enjoyable and fun too. Cheers!

Sometimes the company and the overall atmosphere are as important as the food itself.

I have heard of this restaurant in Inter Continental Hotel for long time, but no chance to try. (Because you always tell me to eat at Fei Ya.)

BTW, please try Fei Ya as frequently as possible. La Tavola is declining... I tried it last week. :(

I think Tommy shall save Fei Ya the last since it is considered the best.
Try all others before Fei Ya.
Save the best to the last.

I would suggest try Fei Ya only for these 2 months. In proportion, from the declining rate of Flavors of 4 months ago, then now La Tavola. Fei Ya may not survive this declining to the same consistency. JW Marriott BKK may be complaining why Renaissance can outperform them. :)

Har Fei Ya is declining?
So who will exceed Fei Ya?

It's my fortune telling only, or I can say from the other 2 (Flavors & La Tavola) being on the decline that Fei Ya can't run away from this fate.

don't worry, when Fei Ya faded, we still can go to Ah Yat Forum, it is always good. (never tried pigeon at Fei ya, must try once, fast fast, before the food couldn't be accept in the mouth)

for Italian food at Rajprasong intersection, moved to Grossi instead of la Tavola then ..
