Gedhawa

BANGKOK AMAZING GOURMET
.

Gedhawa

Chiangmai is the second largest city in Thailand; however, strange that northern Thai (Lanna Thai) cuisine is not popular in Bangkok. When I meet my Chiangmai friends who live in Bangkok, they never agreed to do Lanna. Their answer - too oily (of Lanna food) and they had enough back in their childhood days. That's also answered why Issan (northeastern Thai) food is relatively popular in Bangkok due to the heavy use of fresh and herbal ingredients with the less-oily cooking method.

Thanks to two expat foodies, finally I am able to sample savory Lanna Thai cuisine in Bangkok!

Since the discovery of Gedhawa, an excuse to visit Chiangmai just for sampling northern Thai cuisine became nonsense.

Heat that screw into our hearts

Some friends complain that those Thai restaurants chosen in our reviews were too tourist-friendly, meaning the food was mild on heat but not spicy enough!

Therefore, for the next few weeks I will show you the color of Thai cuisine.

First one in the roll, Thung-Prig Thung-Khing on Kaset-navamin Highway. It shall pronounce theung-phrik theung-khing. Meaning the heat (can refer to either spicy food or political fight) shall screw into your heart! So, are you ready for a spicy journey?

Phad Thai

Phad Thai is the most popular stir-fried al dente sen-chan noodle dish in Thailand, and also well received in North America.

1. To sample phad Thai in comfort yet authentic taste ensured, Pad Thai Aree is an option.
