Is it by that shop (with the piggy head as store sign - the original one in Siam Square but now chain stores in every mall). BTW, does Nara's noodle soup fall into this Ayutthaya style as they have a boat as a kitchen to show it's kind of related?

BTW, another 333 counts to reach 100k counts... hurray!

Oops... supposed this section is on the commens to this one - my favourite noodle soup. Very nice noodle - must must try! Nara did this one better than Piggy Head shop (which used to be very good). Highly recommended!

Ayutthaya - I guess the boat may mean at that time people did that on the boat, just like in the old Shaukiwan or Causeway Bay typhoon shelter that those boat people sold their noodle soup, toast, ovaltine...etc. My grand mom had a very powerful voice to call that floating food stall from a boat miles away. If she is still here, she can live without a cell. phone. Need to dedicate the Madonna's song "Miles Away" to her. :)

hey Sea y r half right! Ayutthaya boat noodles does reflect the old time (Ayutthaya period) people live by the river (esp. Chaophraya River), boat served as their logistic at that time and they did trade and sold food on the boat too; nowadays boat noodle is just a bowl of soup noodle with the Ayutthaya era recipe, and normally sold at roadside, not on a boat anymore.

This is very lovingly memorable and reminding us of how the tough time for our older generations. Thanks TC for the story behind this simple and beautifully humble food culture.
