Pasta 54

Swimming in Olive Oil

This is a no-frills Italian eatery not only hidden in a sub-soi on busy Thonglo Road but also we need to ring the doorbell at gates in order to get access to the house (or if you prefer to call it a restaurant). The restaurant has no obvious shop sign and no shop facade as well. It is owner Mallika Margherita's family house that they live there; and it is the six tables Pasta 54.

Interesting!

Food? Non-commercial home-style recipes from the owner's nanny of Naples, Italy; therefore dishes are of basic kind. After all we felt like eating at our neighbor's house with our neighbors.

Customers? Thonglo hi-so residents and paparazzi-sensitive movie stars.

1. green salad Baht 100; 2. ministrone soup Baht 100 (hearty!)

3. grilled fish with rosemary Baht 200

4. spaghetti with fresh tomato and basil Baht 160; 5. pasta D'estate Baht 180
(great if you love olive oil, plenty of them!)

Wow.. a very Med. Italian style and color restaurant. Interesting and again to show anything can happen in Bangkok.

not only color is warm, but the service is warm too, just feel like eating at some friends home and their maids cook for us

btw, the owner's maids double as chefs and the owner doesn't cook

however, i think they use too much of olive oil; or maybe this is authentic Naples style cooking!

So this is the ideal restaurant for secret dating!

Anonymous 3:06 PM,
You are right, this kind of "See Fong Choi" "Ka Bo" is suitable to meet your mistress or Ah E(Ah 2nd).
Very private and safe.
I recommend they shall have a resting area with beds for napping(either the real nap or other kind of nap) so the owner can charge additional "napping" service by hour rate.
Then complemented by foot massage service for more income.
So one stone kills 3 birds.

Yes, TC, some med. cuisine does use "much" olive oil. Much means 3-4 soup spoons of oil left in the food after cooking. :)

BTW, if you can find grape seed oil, try it for your home cooking. Grape seed oil is now said to be withstand high heat cooking and it's good as Olive oil.

Grape seed is good for your heart too.

My grand mom once told me to even chew the grape seed and swallow it. It's because, like any other kid, my stupid question to her "will there be a grape tree growing inside me?". So that's why she told me to chew it well. Since then I even eat grape seed even until now. So I would get well prepared for a "healthy" heart.. haha :) Actually those GNC products have something very much like what I was told in childhood.

Pasta 54 looks very Med indeed.
