M Duck

.

Mandarina Duck

This is not about your expensive school bags in the 80's.

Here I am referring to an openly-secret restaurant on the hip Soi Thonglo, a restaurant you couldn't afford to miss if roast duck may turn your taste buds on!

Mandarin Duck need not advertise in media neither buy advertorial on tourist guide book but business is of extreme busy during lunch and dinner hours. Regular customers from the high-so neighborhood and foodies from all over Bangkok found their pleasure eating there.

With so many good restaurants in the area Thonglo is always the treasure of my gastronomy journey.

Mandarin Roast Duck Restaurant 金寶樓 ****
729 Soi Thonglo
Sukhumvit Road Soi 55
Wattana, Bangkok 10110
Tel.: 02.391.7048

Open daily: 11am - 9:30pm
Pay (food only for two): around THB 600

Okay so next time you may stay in Thonglo. Brand new Somerset.

How much is Somerset in Thonglo?
Is the internet free?

Somehow this is the only hotel that I don't find any unique selling points as compared to others.
For example, the one SEA introduced us to stay(with our dad) in a remote area is very spacious, new and cheap($70US per night for a 1,500 sf suite).
Center Point no need to say is hard to forget due to the "love at first sight" effect.
And the recent AG and VIE both have their uniqueness(the former one is economical and the latter one is trendy and stylish).
And needless to say more about MO-BKK.
If we can put AG in Thonglo that is the best.:)

The only thing that bothers is the smelly trash area near the soi entrance and a bit far from the main road. It's ok to me though.

The owner must like the duck bag so much! ZACK

shall suggest AG to provide customers with tuk tuk transport from hotel to soi, now many hotels and serviced apartments that built in a soi already provide with this kind of service
