Ootoya

BANGKOK AMAZING GOURMET
.

Portal to taste

Started in Tokyo as a fifty yen gohan (rice) canteen in 1958, Ootoya restaurants were well received by the locals and enjoy a steady expansion since. Today Ootoya is a multi-nation dine-in-fast-food style restaurant chain, with branches not only in Japan, but sprawl across Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Indeed the Thonglor J-Avenue branch in Thailand was Ootoya's first overseas debut.

Here in Thailand. Ootoya is also well received by Thais and enjoys a fast expanding result to more than twenty branches in mere six years. The credit shall be awarded to Ootoya choice of top quality and fresh ingredients, flavorsome taste, and the use of white charcoal on grilled items, though price is not easy.

If you expect sushi or sashimi, there is not your portal to a meal.

Tried Ootoya before. Food is very delicious.

Ootoya has always been a good choice for Japanese food for me, but more and more "Authentic" type of chain-Japanese restaurants are popping up in department stores around Bangkok. Nothing like a little competition to make the dining experience (hopefully) better for us!

I like Ootoya too. Haven't been there for over 2 years. Good that they have one in HK though it's twice more expensive than the one in BKK.

Wow twice the price in HK for this is quite expensive then.
Well, put it this way, it is just that everything good at BKK is half price.
That is why BKK is quoted the heaven in Asia.

If you say Ootoya is fast food. Then it is probably the most tasty one in the world.

Though the ones in Paragon and Emporium look like fast food, they are not. Here in HK it is an upper middle Japanese restaurant. They use some refine soy sauce and vinegar. I like their vinegar chicken.

Ootoya summons S-Pure hygiene pork, high quality chicken, and fish imported from Japan for their dishes

i like the vinegar chicken too!
