Seasoned with dust

A friend in London asked me why he didn't see roadside somtum dishes were reviewed in my blog.

Here we go, my roadside somtum feast. A no-frills dining experience.

Available anywhere in Bangkok and throughout Thailand. (I got mine on Silom Road near Saladaeng.)

somtum pla raad (raw papaya spicy salad with fermented fish dressing)

Good to see something new here.
I like roadside food as long as they are clean.

Always loved street dining at BKK and HK... Miss it like crazy.

The fish is pla tu (Thai horse mackerel). Taste so-so at this roadside hawker place.

If at Mahachai pla tu is the star.

Yes Fish Burger,

I was about to say the fish looks ugly here. It looks like a "big mouth Ching". :)

The dressing looks quite heavy and very local too. Better take the chicken instead of the fish. :)

yes the "dressing" on somtum pla-raad is very heavy and smelly, i couldn't take it, it is real Issan eating culture .. :-) we can mostly just up to somtum Thai
