Erawan Bakery

Bangkok sweet teeth pleasure

Local bakeries including those in hotels always bake their cakes too sweet except a very few 5-star hotel outlets bake cakes with taste and health conscious customers in mind, one among them is the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

Almost all outlets in Grand Hyatt Erawan are of nice ambiance, attentive service and good quality (of food) except the emerging French accent the Tables and the ousted Cantonese accent the Chinese Restaurant.

The Erawan Bakery is an ideal alternative to the Lobby Lounge to hold your afternoon tea chit-chat agenda or a casual meeting with associates. There you were served one of the country
irresistible temptations of the finest pastry and bakery items, as well as sandwiches and even home-made ice creams and chocolates, with a cup of freshly brewed espresso or fine tea.

The Erawan Bakery ****
Lower lobby, Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel
494 Rajdamri Road
Prathumwan, Bangkok 10330

Erawan Bakery

Open daily : 10 am - 10 pm

Look forward to seeing the not-so-sweet cakes here.

Not so easy to find some not-too-sweet dessert and cakes. Erawan Bakery does know this point and I really like their cakes though I am not a fan for cakes.

Yummies. Lovely cakes in the afternoon perks me up. But in terms of a proper English afternoon tea experience, the ambiance at Author's lounge in Oriental is unbeatable.

All right, will try to see if I can go get the Wednesday chocolate high tea by Author's Lounge and tried the Mariage Ferres tea.

Woots! Sounds absolutely Divine! That place is so nostalgic.... You are indeed a lucky man.

yes Paranoid, Author's Lounge is unbeatable good

Sea and Stella, definitely will arrange the Author'S Lounge experience during September; however, Wednesday chocolate tea buffet was off; still worth to indulge yourself with THB 890++ a set of afternoon tea treat with choices of Mariage Freres

btw Sea, u need not try that Mariage Freres bor! as u already hv a nice stock of them at home

:) not different mood. Oops.. no choco. high tea. Mai Pen Lai. The afternoon tea is still good. However, I have a big big problem. I don't know why I would walk up to Le Normandie every time we passed by Author's Lounge. :)

Sea, ur problem walking up to the Normandie can be solved by these: try not to walk pass before 2:30pm; or don't bring a pair of shoes, or don't wear a pair of pants, or don't bring ur credit card with u, and bring only 1,000 baht with u so u can pay for the afternoon tea; ooops if u stay there, then try to forget ur room number ..

Hi TC,
Yes Yes Yes.
Please bring us to Author's Lounge for high tea, Lord Jim's for buffet, and Normandie for lunch in August.
I want to go at least 2 out of 3 above. (3 out of 3 is better.)
Oh, also China House buffet too as suggested by SEA.
Maybe we can consider staying at MO since we have to eat here many times. Also MO has the heated pool set at 86 degree water.(I have confirmed their pool is heated many ways.)
Please see if we can get below $300 US per night(with free breakfast)so we can stay.
I might write a letter to MO to suggest discount since Peninsula Hotel has 50% off.
The lower the price the more days we can stay.
This can be one of our consideration but other hotels are ok too.
If for others, then I don't expect to be $300 per night though. No other hotel is worth my $300 other than MO.
I think you shall consult SEA since he is the Hotel Expert.

Thanks Mickey for the advices, but too many things to forget. I am afraid, I can't remember what to forget.

I did not see any of Mickey's advices. Where?

Stella, didn't Sea just said some of our comments losing!

Eer... Very drifting. I could only read Stella's comments today. Sorry Stella, I can't get a room rate for around US$300 for MO if you compare MO to Peninsula BKK. :)

Surprise the cakes there are good,, as cakes in the Dining Room buffet were for ET only.

Thailand Club said...

yes, MO will be very sad if someone compare her with a so-so 5-star hotel

my friends stay at Peninsula Bangkok last week, she told me that the hotel is like a Hong Kong market coz so packed with mostly HK guests, and she need to play music chair for breakfast, terrible service, crazy!

Stella said...

That is why I did not mention Peninsula at all although I know it is 50% off now.
So either MO or MO.

SS, take it easy, but don't blame us anyway. :)
