Nanohana

BANGKOK AMAZING GOURMET
.

Gourmet in an Ice Dome

For me Osaka is always the must-visit city in Japan, as epicurean knows it is the city of kuidaore (to become bankrupt as a result of one's overspend on eating and drinking), a word to describe Osaka people obsession with food. In Osaka, residents willing to spend more on food, thus became the center of gourmet in Japan.

Lucky (or unfortunate hahaha) in Bangkok we also have the chance for trying out kuidaore.

Nanohana, a fancy washoku restaurant with specialty on traditional Osaka cuisine, emphasizes on
quality ingredients with the use of essential Osaka dashi (stock) and usukuchi shoyu (light soy suace) matching with skilled chefs culinary presentation. Enhanced by a sip of sake, a meal at Nanohana is both the upmost pleasure for our eyes and taste buds.

This is so cute.
I know what this is inside the iced dome.
This has been in our guessing game last year.

Stella, I don't think the same would repeat. It should be another food. Something yellow and green inside the dome this time, unlike last time.

Stella, Sea is more observant and in details :)

This looks very attractive and delicious.

Courtroom in an ice dome?

Stella said...

Yes Sea is very observant and detailed. He can be FBI, CIA, detective Columbo, detective Pink Panther, or in Forensic Science field.
Is this a guess game? If not, I am going to tell what is inside.

whether it is a guessing game or not, just tell us what is inside!!

Four colour inside the dome. They are yellow, green, orange and brown. But I couldn't tell what is inside. No idea!

The inside is salmon + sashimi with some green grass.

Tommy Leung said...

Never eat any sashimi in yellow colour!

Maybe it is some pickles inside?

This may not be complicated this time I guess. It may be just pickled like Sam suggested and I also think it's highly possible. Nice pickled is a very delicate appetizer in Japanese cuisine. Besides, the dome seems to be for some chilled food but one out of a million there is always an exceptional case. I tend to agree to what Sam guessed.

Ai yo. I clicked the pic and the file name has Salmon and Sashimi wor... Would that be cheating?

Thailand Club said...

hahaha both Paranoid and Stella click on the pic found out it is salmon & sashimi, and ... it is :)

btw, Sam, it is very logically to guess the yellow color stuff is some pickles, as Sea mentioned, nice pickled veggie is a very delicate appetizer in Japanese cuisine ..

Stella said...

You got it Paranoid. Otherwise you think I am so smart to guess this right without any hint?
Yes the answer is salmon + sashimi + p4.jpg(image).
BTW, this is not cheating. I just tried to enlarge to see what is inside the dome.
TC did this on purpose to make me happy.

Please bring me to this restaurant next time.

My friends said this is awesome, both the iced dome and your slide presentation.
Oh, there is a small typo(Tempura instead of Tenpura) on the photo after "Soba". No big deal.

Thailand Club said...

my dear, there is no typo

Stella said...

What does the word Tenpura mean?

Anonymous said...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempura

in the sea said...

I guess it's "n" & "m" in this connection... :)

Thailand Club said...

right, the n and m

and both is fine, actually 'tempura' is not original Japanese word, it is a borrowed word

in the sea said...

it's true. From my 3 month Japanese learning, some writing can be like Wa ta shi wa, but some wrote watasi wa. My Japanese friend even told me the language in various provinces differ and they can tell where you are from. I think same everywhere, like Taiwan, Italy, the States, and even HK. Yes, New Territories Cantonese is different from Southern HK Island Cantonese. :)

Mickey Mouse said...

hahaha NT Cantonese vs Southern HK Island Cantonese (in two version, as the fishermen and the high-so)..

so we speak Central Cantonese anyway

btw, there is really one typo in the slide show, just not tenpura or tempura :)

Stella said...

So you mean Tenpura is the same as Tempura? Please be precice.

Thailand Club said...

why don't u just follow the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempura as Anonymous 03:21 suggested

Thanks pTC now I know they are same word. Anyway it is a Japanese word, just depends on how people translate it. Like Tom Yum Goong and Tom Yam Kung, they are the same.
