Another Hound

230
.

Half breed gourmet

Were babysitting out-of-town friends to do massive shopping in the Siam Paragon and Siam Centre. I bought few pieces of clothing from Greyhound Original, with great discount of course. Passed by Another Hound Cafe, a Thai and Italian fusion restaurant, had my foot rested for a while. My mouth became busy though.

There, I sampled the cafe specialty
deep-fried marinated mini chicken wings in fish sauce with lemongrass and lod chong Singapore (jen-dol drinks).

1. lod-chong Singapore THB 40++ ; 2. calamari fritti with tartar sauce THB 120++

3. deep-fried marinated mini chicken wings in fish sauce THB 110++

4. fusili phad Thai with shrimp and dried shrimp THB190++;
5. avocado rocket salad with shrimp and shrimp roe THB 280++

Thanks TC for the note.
Yes SEA, it is good to go back to Square One sometimes, especially the Square One can bring us to the good old memory through some old eatery, old dishes, old places, and old friends....
That is why I always like TC to bring me to the same eatery I have been to since 2005(the good ones). I like to refresh, recollect, review, retreat, replay the good food and the good memory one more time.
I do like encore.

It's true. I just get a feeling that Looking back is 10 years and looking forward will be another 10 years. Glad that we all have been thru' the past 10 years. After 2001, I really feel that the World isn't the same. So I don't mind going back to where we were then.

I do get your feeling SEA. Sometimes old things is better. Even regarding the singers, the song writers and the songs, I do feel they are better in old days.
Plus many other things too.
Sorry young kids. (I am getting old and that is why.)

Needles to remind you I need to come here for the chicken wing and "Jen Do" drink.
This can be the high tea replacement.

I still want high tea at Author's Lounge though.

Wow.. so quick that you replaced some photos. Their pad thai with fussili is interesting though, and I believe it's not bad from the aroma.

Agree with you that Grey Hound's mini wings are best in Thailand. Fusilli phad thai? TC starts to enjoy fusion dish.

Yes chicken wing at Grey Hound Cafe at least 2 times in August/Sept.

i am not against good fusion food, sad that most of them r messy fusion

I notice most of the fusion food is often cooked in some non-sticky pans. I can say it's a mixture of something stir-to-cook until done. Stir frying is like this or slow boiling is also like this. It's all because fusion food is often on the how to mix the food, but often disregarded on the cooking technique. Just like Pad Thai here, if it's not in a powerful quick stir frying, it would be just so so. When a dish is served, you can tell how good it is from just the aroma.

OK, SS, we would order 2 orders at one time to save time for many 2-3 times of must-eat.

Mickey Mouse said...

Sea, that's probably a good idea

Stella said...

You are so smart SEA.
You are so efficient when it comes to eating 2 times at Grey Hound huh.

Whenever my friends or my family members ask for an eating agenda in BKK, I often have headache. So whenever a hotel can cut out the breakfast, I would ask them not to take it so as to save room and not to waste it, except MO. :)

Mickey Mouse said...

that's mean staying in MO is not really good idea, if we don't skip breakfast then how can Stella eat all those "must eat" and "must eat x 2 times" ..

btw, i hv just met my 'hotel' friend tonight, she said since sale in July is good, they don't need to offer any more cut-throat promotion in August and onwards, unless the red come again

Stella said...

Do you mean we may stay at MO? If yes, on the days I have the MO breakfast, I can skip lunch but eat high tea with you guys. Just drop me and Chris to shopping when you have lunch. I am serious. I really don't want to exhaust my stomach after a heavy MO breakfast. Well, we will see and go by my stomach condition at that time. I will also bring some "Bill Fei Ming".
On the days I plan to skip the MO breakfast, I can sell the ticket half price to TC. Ha Ha Ha.
